There are issues that primarily revolve around the First Amendment, which guarantees freedom of speech and religion, and the Establishment Clause, which prohibits the government from establishing an official religion. When us educators grade students essays we have to make sure that we are grading based off the academic criteria and not personal belief. The First Amendment protects students' rights to express their views, including religious beliefs, in their schoolwork. However, educators must
